The Phase 1 Clinical Trial Centre is located in the Special Block of the Prince of Wales Hospital with state of the art facilities customized for early phase clinical studies.

PK/PD Laboratory

  • Our PK/PD Laboratory was established since 2013 under the leadership of Prof. Dennis Lo (Department of Chemical Pathology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong). Prof. Dennis Lo is the pioneer of non-invasive prenatal diagnosis using maternal circulating nucleic acids. Prof. Dennis Lo has received numerous awards, including the 2005 State Natural Science Award from the State Council of China, and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2011, and as a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2013, and received Future Science Prize- Life Science Prize in 2017.
  • The purpose built PK/PD Laboratory was designed to fulfil the stringent requirements of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and is equipped with dedicated equipment and personnel for all your PK/PD needs. In Apr 2019, PK/PD Laboratory received Research and Development (R&D) accreditation from the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA), for their quality management and technical competency in regulated bioanalysis service.
  • The PK/PD Laboratory was equipped with 2 units of high-end liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analyzers, capable of detecting drugs in plasma at nanogram level. The Laboratory environment and specimen storage are fully monitored in accordance with regulatory requirement.
  • Our member of staff is comprised of experienced pathologists, clinical biochemists, analytical chemists, and medical laboratory technologists with years of experiences. Different quality control and quality assurance procedures ensure the timely delivery of trustworthy bioanalysis results.
